We have several areas of compost. Our plastic composter is where we put our everyday veggie scraps. Sometimes that gets too wet and we add leaves to help balance the moisture so it doesn’t just rot. We want decomposition not rot. When it warms up more, it will begin working again. We also have what Big John Lipscomb calls “Giant Turds”. This is an excellerated method to compost. It requires a heavy duty yard bag, grass or yard clippings, 1 orange and about a gallon of water. You tie that up, let it cook in the sun and in about 3-4 weeks you have a giant turd for your garden. So don’t waste your clippings. Don’t feed that garbage disposal. Use them to feed your garden.
